1. A mug that says "Witch & Famous". It was given to me many years ago by a witchy friend of mine and it has always sat on my desk, no matter if at home or at a work place.
2. An Ivy decorated simmering pot for essential oils. I usually plug it up every morning, refill it with fresh oil and let it simmer all day. The scents are wonderful and soothing.
3. My computer. Yes, I know that sounds cheesy, but I really do adore Sappho. She is my baby!
Sunday, August 1 2004TV Shows you never miss I really don't watch much tv these days, but there are a few nights that I just cannot let slide by without either watching the shows while they are on or taping them to watch the next day. They are as follows (and why): 1. The 4400 Yes, I know, there was a lot of hype during the build-up to its premier, but now that it is on and I have been watching it every single Sunday night (on USA, in case you want to catch an episode), I am hooked! I guess what I like about it the most is that it has an alien theme and all the people who returned have some kind of special power they received during their abduction, except the black guy - I haven't seen any special power of his yet and dammit it is pissing me off and making me ultra-curious! The cast is really good too! 2. The Dead Zone Who would have thought that the geeky fella from The Breakfast Club would grow up to be so damn sexy! Anthony Michael Hall is outrageous in this show! Basically the show is a psychological thriller in which Hall's character, Johnny Smith, plays this guy with special powers to see events from the past and the future just by touching someone or an object. If you've never watched it (another USA show), you should check out an episode. If for nothing else, to gaze into those gorgeous blue eyes of Anthony Michael Hall! 3. The X-Files Ok, so I know the series has been off the air for a long time now, but it does play most nights on TNT and I still cannot get enough of it! It doesn't matter how many times I have seen the same episodes over and over again, I just love Fox Mulder and Dana Scully! And, I have to admit, it is also another of those Alien themed shows and yes, I really dig that stuff! 4. Law & Order - the original series I am not quite sure why I love this show so much. I know that when it first came on, it was because of the detective Mike (played by Chris Noth) that kept me interested because I just think he is the sexiest guy on tv, but even when he left, I kept on watching it and have been a loyal follower ever since. I like the drama, the detective work and especially the court room scenes. 5. Law & Order - SVU This great spin-off of the original has also become a favorite of mine. It's a little different from the original because they spend more time on the detective work than they do on court cases, but I still love the plots and the cast is just as awesome as the original series. 6. Law & Order - CI This spin-off, called Criminal Intent, took me a little longer to get into, but since I have watched several episodes now, I really enjoy it a lot. I love the detective work, how they use a lot of profiling to solve their cases, and the cast is also awesome. The only problem with this show is that it runs at the same time The 4400 is on, so I have to catch the reruns on USA. 7. Cold Case Files I am not exactly sure what it is about this show that perks my interest so much, except that it deals with a lot of detective work and solving old cases that have gone cold over long periods of time. I watched an episode the other night about the Zodiac Killer from the 1960s. I was really hoping that they had finally solved that case, but as of yet, it is still COLD! Really good show though and if you ever want to catch an episode, it is an A&E original series. 8. Good Eats This is one of the best cooking shows on FoodTV! Alton Brown is such a brainiac when it comes to cooking that I just fell head-over-heels in love with his show. He reminds me of the Science Guy in his approach because even though he is showing you how to cook, he takes such a scientific approach to it.
9. Charmed Yes, I know, most people think that this is a very cheesy show, but I really don't care what other people think! So bleah! I have always been interested in witchy themed shows and movies and this one really perks my interest a lot. I love the characters, the silly schemes they are always getting into and how they resolve things. The cast is also awesome! My favorite character is by far Piper (played by Holly Marie Combs) even though she seems to get the worse lines in the show sometimes. Normally I don't get to watch the show on its scheduled night on WB, but I do catch it on reruns on TNT during the week. Well, there are my favorite shows on tv, the ones I would die if I missed. And now, it is getting close to the 4400 to come on and I want to be glued to my comfy loveseat in the livingroom when it comes on. So tata!
